This is a 1/700th scale waterline model of HMS glasgow. HMS Glasgow is the lead ship of a new class of Frigate for the Royal Navy. It is intended to build eight of these multi - role frigates. Glasgow is currently being fitted on the Clyde in Scotlan, with three others in build and the final four due to be commence construction soon. The type 26 frigate is a multi - role warships with anti submarine, air defence and general duties capabilities. The second ship will be HMS Cardiff, the third, HMS Belfast and the fourth will be HMS Birmingham.
The 1/700th scale waterline kit contain resin and white metal parts along with some photo etch and decal detail. The kit also includes decals for Cardiff, Belfast and Birmingham, along with an assembly guide.
The pictures of HMS Glasgow on a sea base show what can be done with the kit when made up. The model is made using only items supplied in the kit, the sea base is not included.
